This Is All Camy’s Fault

August 23, 2007

Camy Tang tagged me with the middle name meme. You can see her meme by clicking on her name.

Here goes mine.
The Rules: (you knew there had to be some)

1. You have to post these rules before you give the facts.

2. Players, you must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of their middle name. If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had.

3. When you are tagged you need to write your own blog-post containing your own middle name game facts.

4. At the end of your blog-post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag.

5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

My middle name is Sharmaine — which I happen to like, thank you very much. No “Don’t squeeze the Charmain,” jokes. I’ve heard them all.

S — Serious. Really. I could stand to loosen up around the house and am trying to do that more with my kids and hubby.

H — Hopeful. I’ve learned over the last couple years to trust God’s plan and timing for my life. So there’s a lot of hope that comes with that.

A –Anti-liberal. Which means I’m conservative.

R –Red-headed. Strawberry blonde, actually, but I already filled out the S.

M –Memory (Yes, I stole Camy’s here. Her word, not her memory.) I seem to remember tons of pointless things. I forget to do things I’m supposed to do, but after they happen, they’re in the old gray matter for good. I have learned, though, that when we’re watching reruns to stop saying a line of dialogue before the character on TV says it. My hubby isn’t fond of that.

A –A sports fan. I know I’m stretching there, but really, my name is long and you all do it and see how easy it is!!! I love, love, love sports. I’m very competitive. My hubby and I can’t play each other in games because it doesn’t end pretty. Although we do have a family trophy for whoever picks the most games right in the Final Four brackets. (I won this year!)

I –Introvert, although most people are very surprised to hear that about me. I’m mostly recovered. But every now and then, that tongue-tied girl in me makes an unwanted appearance.

N — Nice. Yes, even if I am a Chicagoan and a Northerner. I try to be nice to people and make eye contact with people I’m passing. Just smiling goes a long way.

E — Eloquent. Not! (Man, this meme is hard.) I am so verbally challenged. I can’t say things clearly or concisely. But give me a month or so, and I’ll come back with the most eloquent written zinger one could ever hope for.

Now I’m supposed to pick one person for each letter in my name. Nine???? I don’t think so. I’ll use my I’m-moving-in-four-days-and-don’t-have-time-to-brush-my-teeth excuse again.

I’ll go brush my teeth now.

LOL, love your excuse! I wonder what percentage of writer’s are introverts? I’m one too, unless I’m in a totally comfortable situation. Otherwise I’m a wallflower. Have fun brushing!

Wow, you have a really cool name. The title of your post totally made me crack up.

There are so few people who have lovely old-fashioned names like this! My dad’s sister’s name was Charmian (shar-mee-ANN), but most people always mispronounced it as Sharmaine.

Oh, and you’re in good company being an “almost recovered” introvert. There are lots of us out here!

You must be in the middle of your move! How’s it going? If you have a chance, it would make for a great blog post. Hint hint.

I’m definitely an introvert, too. I would have thought almost all writers would be, but most writers at conferences seem to be a lot more comfortable with all the socializing than I am.

Speaking of sports fan, I have to mention our Little League World Champs right here in Georgia. We’re so proud of them! What a fun series that was to watch.
